Development at 637 W. Mifflin Street Will Add New Purpose-Built Student Housing While Preserving the Landmark Wiedenbeck Apartments at 619 W. Mifflin Street
MADISON, Wis. – Trinitas Ventures, a Carmel, Indiana-based fully integrated real estate firm, held a groundbreaking ceremony for Atmosphere on Mifflin, a new purpose-built student housing development underway at 637 W. Mifflin Street. The event brought together the full development project team, including project consultants, Trinitas team members and Stevens Construction, to recognize the collective effort behind the project and the progress now underway. The community is scheduled for delivery in Summer 2028.
Together with the preserved Wiedenbeck Apartments, Atmosphere on Mifflin will comprise 264 units and 697 beds adjacent to the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus. The new 10-story development will include more than 15,000 square feet of clubhouse and amenity space, complementing a range of residences designed around how students live, connect and recharge.
“Atmosphere on Mifflin is the kind of project that reflects who we are at our best,” said Loren King, CEO and co-Founder of Trinitas Ventures. “It brings together an exceptional location, a complex development plan and a team capable of executing it. We are creating a community that expands housing options near UW–Madison while preserving an important part of the site’s history.”
In addition to the new purpose-built residences at 637 W. Mifflin Street, Atmosphere on Mifflin will preserve the landmark Wiedenbeck Apartments at 619 W. Mifflin Street. The building and its existing units will remain in place, with capital improvements planned as it becomes part of the broader community. Located adjacent to the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, residents will be within walking distance of the Mifflin Street district, major retail destinations, the Southwest Commuter Path and many of the places central to student life in Madison.
“With construction underway, our focus is on executing the plan our team has spent years developing,” said Linda Irving, vice president, project executive at Trinitas Ventures. “Delivering a new 10-story community while incorporating an existing historic building requires detailed coordination at every stage. Stevens Construction has been a strong partner in that work, and we are looking forward to carrying that momentum through delivery.”
As part of site preparation at 637 W. Mifflin Street, Trinitas and Stevens Construction partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to identify appliances and other items that could be put to continued use. Over three days, Habitat volunteers removed 72 apartment appliances, extending their useful life while helping the project team maintain its pre-demolition schedule. Trinitas and Stevens Construction also made a combined $5,000 contribution to support Habitat’s continued work throughout Dane County.
Atmosphere on Mifflin draws on Trinitas’ fully integrated investment, development, construction and property management platform. The project builds on Trinitas’ track record in Madison and more than two decades of experience developing and operating residential communities in university markets nationwide.
